  • Surgical Sperm Retrieval

This technique is used to help couples where the male partner does not have sperms in the semen sample.  A small amount of sperm is obtained directly from the Epididymis or testicles in a small surgical procedure sufficient for IVF treatment.

Who Should Opt for Surgical Sperm Retrieval?

  1. Men with no sperm in ejaculate (Azoospermia) – Due to blockage or production issues.

  2. Men with vasectomy or failed vasectomy reversal – No sperm reaches the ejaculate.

  3. Spinal cord injuries or ejaculatory dysfunction – Prevents normal sperm release.

  4. Genetic or congenital issues – Where sperm cannot travel through the reproductive tract.

  5. Failed sperm retrieval through non-surgical methods – When standard approaches don’t work.

Benefits of Surgical Sperm Retrieval

  1. Enables biological parenthood – Even when no sperm is present in semen.

  2. Multiple retrieval techniques available – Like TESE, PESA, TESA, and Micro-TESE.

  3. Can be paired with IVF/ICSI – Improves chances of successful fertilization.

  4. Minimally invasive options – Many procedures are outpatient and low-risk.

  5. Can retrieve sperm even in severe cases – Including non-obstructive azoospermia.
